The prototype of my square

Hello fellow quilters:)

This is basically what my square will look like. It will have a border though, but I do not have the material that I want to do it in so that will be a surprise. I also am debating about switching my background material to blue but am not sure if I really want to do that or not. I do know that this isn't the white material I plan to use, it was a scrap as I didn't want to use my real one on something I wasn't sure would turn out. I think it looks pretty cute though:) I have seem a few of your square and am looking forward to seeing the others! So start sharing them:)

Where to start

I suppose I ought to go buy some fabric, but that would mean I need to have an idea. This will be very interesting to see how it turns out. Good luck, ladies....when is the deadline again :)

A possible fabric for my square

So you all know I love the movie Gone With the Wind and I really wanted to incorporate something from either the book or the movie on my square but I wasn't sure how to do it. Then after speaking with my Aunt Debbie today, (she makes the best squares ever all of her own design) I got a few ideas. I'm still figuring the layout to incorporate all that is me but I am pretty sure I'm going to try to use this material for a little part of it. Thought I'd give you a glimpse and would love to see what you are thinking of.

I know that Natalie and I have missed two dates to go and pick out material. I am so sorry, but I hope we can try again.

Here is my idea for my square. I want to do a traditional old fashioned pattern and add 5 embroidered stars for all my children, something for Chelsey, Something for my faith, and something for learning/education. All the somethings I want to be symbols. For instance my faith symbol might be a dove for peace. I also thought of two wedding bands connected for Chesley. But these are just thoughts. I would like to know what everyone else thinks since I am new to quilting / don't know how involved and difficult the embroidering will be.

Can't wait to see everyones squares!
